My Monday Rant: Christmas and getting organized for the New Year.

Hello Lovelies!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and are ready for a Happy New Year!

I know I had a absolute fabulous time with my family and I was so excited to receive and gift all of  the presents. I made a lot of things by hand this year but they were treasured by each person I'd like to think. I received a few long awaited gifts this year such as: 

The Lord of the Ring Trilogy and The Hobbit Books (they are all hobbit size which makes them even better), 

Season 1 of game of Thrones, 

The Elder Wand, 

Slytherin Socks, 

and lastly Batman Footie pajamas.

I'd like to think this was a very successful, very nerdy Christmas for myself. :)

What were some of your favorite presents this year?

Also I'm all organized for the New Year. I've made myself a custom planner for my school stuff, nutrition and workouts, my blog, budget, and cosplays for the year. I'm still working on a few design things but I was thinking of posting it for anyone who would find it helpful. Tell me below if that would help any of you.

Monday Rant: The Hobbit, Sailor Moon, RWBY

Hello my lovelies!

So if you checked out my previous post you would know that I went to see the Hobbit this weekend and I would just like to say that it was AMAZING!! 8D

I laughed, I cried, and I have now realized that I can have a full on LOTR marathon now! Gotta go pick up all the Hobbits now!

Another thing that I just recently saw over the weekend was the new Sailor Moon Crystal ( I just got Crunchy Roll so I now had a chance to catch up) and gosh have the feels hit me hard. If you are also watching you know my pain. BUTTTT I'm so excited to continue watching and I'm also reading the manga, I definitely recommend it if you haven't yet read it. 

And the last thing I saw was RWBY, I actually started it today and still have mixed feelings about it. Now the story line I love, the animation and 5-10 minute episodes is what gets me. My attention was brought to this show by my best friends Cosplay line up for A-Kon (which you can see here, also check out the rest of her Instagram, she's an amazing cosplayer) So far I have finished the first season and am moving on to the next one later today.

My Monday Rant: Weekly faves, The Hobbit, and School!

Hello Lovelies!

(So today's posting is a bit everywhere and I apologize about that but it happens.)

Weekly Favorites:

1. Dark lipsticks

I am loving dark Lipsticks right now anything ox blood colored or really deep and warm are my colors right now. Like today for example I'm wearing Sangria by Milani. 

2. Baby Soft Yarn

I have been going through this stuff like crazy for Christmas presents this year! Nothing says Merry Christmas like a soft warm crocheted blanket. :)

3. Christmas Lights

Now seriously, I have to be extremely careful when I'm driving at night now dues to all the crazy Christmas lights. I get distracted way to easily with all the "Oooohhhhhh, pretty...."

4. Andy Mineo

I usually don't listen to rap because I can't stand it but I have been listening to Andy Mineo all month so far. Check him out, he is an amazing with his Christian rap.

5. My bed

Dear lord do I need to catch up on my sleep. I've been traveling everywhere and doing a million things at once so when I actually get to the point of sleep it's my favorite time of the day.

Next, Ok so big big news! I have been so extremely excited about the new Hobbit coming out and so anxious to see it and I just found out that I am gong with a group of friends to go see it in IMAX at a theater in Shreveport!

Welcome to December! Christmas Tag!

Hello Lovelies and welcome December!!!

Even though I have been sick for most of November I refuse to let this get in my way of December! It's one of my favorite times of the year. I am literately a complete little kid when it comes to the preparation for Christmas and the New Year! My favorite part though would probably be all the Christmas sweets \(^.^)/

Tell me below what your favorite part about Christmas is!

Also if you want to follow me along this Christmas I will be doing a Photo a day challenge on my Instagram to show you guys little holiday facts about me and all the crazy stuff that goes on! (We have so many birthdays in December so expect lots of party photos!)

1. What is your favorite Christmas film?

 My absolute most favorite Christmas film would have to be The Nightmare Before Christmas which you would have seen if you follow my Instagram tag I mentioned above cause it's on day 2!

2. Have you ever had a White Christmas?

I don't believe I remember ever having a white Christmas, since I do live in Texas we have somewhat of bi polar weather and it can never decide whether to remain hot or cold xp

3. Where do you usually spend your holidays?

I spend every holiday with my family! I don't think I could ever stand being away from the crazy bunch on a holiday :)

4. What is your favorite Christmas Song?

I would have to say my favorite Christmas song is all of Pentatonix new Christmas CD That's Christmas to Me 

5. Do you open a presents on Christmas Eve?

Yes, we all get to open one small gift right before we go to sleep.

6. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? 

You knowwwww Dancer and Prancer and ___ and Vixen!!! Comet and Cupid, Donner and Blitzen. Then Rudolph Bam!

7. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?

Putting up the tree with my sisters is probably the best part for me :) 

8. Is your Christmas tree real of fake?

Fake I don't think I could deal with a real one haha

9. What is your all time favorite holiday food/treat? 

Since we usually have a lot of family over we basically make another Thanksgiving meal with all the turkey and ham and it's sooooooooooooo good haha!

10. Be honest do you like giving gifts or receiving them?

I love seeing people receive my gifts. Mostly because my gifts are hand made or I put a lot of thought into them. It's a wonderful feeling to see how happy they are when they open it.

11. What is the best Christmas gift you ever received? 

The best gift I ever got was a pair of Owl footie pajamas that my mom got me two years ago. Each one of my sisters got a pair too with their favorite animal and now we all wear them together Christmas eve and day!

12. What would be your dream place to visit during the holidays?

I would love love love love love to go to Ireland for Christmas!!!! 

13. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably? 

I'm amazing when it comes to the first few presents then I get really lazy and throw everything in bags haha xp

14. Most memorable holiday moment?

I don't have a particular moment I do however always remember lounging around watching all the classic Christmas movies with the family.

15. What made you realize the truth about Santa?

No clue actually, but my younger sister did ask me the dreaded "Is Santa real?" question the other night. Let's just say I ran away before giving an answer....

16. Do you make New Years resolutions? Do you stick to them?

Well last year I said I was gonna get active and go to the gym. I started about last month haha

17. What makes the Holidays special to you?

I believe family and friendship is what makes my holiday so special. If I didn't have all of them around I'd probably be quite a Scrooge on Christmas.

October Favorites!

Hey there Lovelies!

So today I'm just going to be going over some of my favorites from this month!

***Haircare***

Tresemme Mousse 

I remember using mousse in high school and hating it because it made my hair all crunchy but now I've rediscovered it and learned the correct way to use it. It does wonders for my curly hair in this weather!

***Make Up***

Lip Monthly subscription bag

So I received my first Lip monthly bag this month and I'm hooked I loved everything in it and I plan on doing an unboxing for the December bag here on this blog. ( I will quickly go through the October bag at that time also)

Maybelline the Nudes Palette

This palette is my new favorite eye shadow palette. All the colors are so gorgeous and nicely pigmented. I think it's a perfect palette for fall.

***Fashion***

Scarfs

I stinking love scarfs. And because me and my sisters are pretty talented with string we like to make our own stuff. My favorite right now is this gorgeous kitted purple infinity scarf my sister made me.

***Food***

Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls

These things are the bomb and I will be eating them all through out the fall season!

***TV/Movies*** 

                  

Anime

So I went through a lot of anime on Netflix such as "Devil is a Part-Timer!" (left) and "My little Monster" (right). I liked these both, lots of comedy and cute love stories!

This reminds me of Degrassi a lot but British.....

Charmed

And of course in honor of Halloween I restarted watching Charmed again from season one!

***Music***

Pandora: Danny Elfman station

I love listening to film scores and I think by far Elfman is my favorite. He has worked with Tim Burton on quite a few films and creates beautiful music.

Halloween Essentials: From my Special FX kit and the Drug Store!

Hello Lovelies!
If you have never read the About Me post I did a few months back then you probably wouldn't know this fun fact, but I am a special FX makeup artist. So of course Halloween is my favorite holiday.

If any of you happen to be struggling with costume makeup here are a few of my Halloween essentials on a budget and in my Special FX kit:

***Liquid Latex***
Liquid latex is the bomb! It's absolutely my top essential when it comes to Halloween. Its perfect for making zombies, prosthetics, wounds, and over all fun to play with. And if Liquid latex is too pricey for you try plain eyelash glue for a cheap dupe.
(Can be purchased at most Halloween stores and drug store.)

***Fake Blood***
Now when it comes to blood I am soooooo insanely picky, haha. I love to use Gel blood (which is my second favorite thing next to latex) but when I don't have enough of it or I need to cover / splatter something in blood I use Jug of Blood from Spirit Halloween. BUT I believe that Jug of Blood is way too red so I then add just a touch of black or dark navy blue cream paint to get my desired color. You could also make your own blood from common house ingredients (corn syrup, coco powder, and red food coloring) but I have never tried it personally.
(Can be purchased at most Halloween stores or home made.)

***Spirit Gum and remover***
Spirit gum in awesome for attaching all kinds of creepy prosthetics to your body. Just make sure you get the remover too because it can be a pain to get off!
(Can be purchased at most Halloween stores.)

***Prosthetics***
This right here is awesome way to amp up your costume. A lot of Halloween stores have tons of different prosthetics you can choose from. Ranging from small to full face! You can also make your own prosthetics using gelatin or liquid latex.
(Can be purchased at most Halloween stores or homemade.)

***Basic Powders and Pallets***
Now this is so important to every look on a budget. If you don't have any expensive special FX pallets its OK! All you need is some good eye shadow, face powders, and blushers. I always make sure I have a wide variety of colors so I can shade anything from bruises and wounds to whimsical and fantasy. For any FXers out there I like to use my Skin Illustrator Pallet FX pallet for my bruises and wounds.
(Can be purchased at the drug store and online at skinillustrator.com)

 Here is a look I did a last year using almost every essential listed above!

*Liquid Latex and toilet paper to make the scars prosthetic.

*Gel blood mixed with a bit of dark blue for the fresh wound look.

*Red, brown, and black eye shadow for the shading. Concealer to blend my prosthetic. Dark red lipstick to help with the wet look so the entire scar wasn't covered in gel blood. 

And here's a bruising example using the Skin Illustrator pallet.

What I love so much about this outfit is that even though its very modern (and not made by a ten year old boy ;p ) it still screams Peter Pan!

Pin it or Bust! Fake Piercing?!

Hello lovelies!

I'm back today with a new Pin it or Bust! This go around we are going to be trying something a little different, that is making a fake piercing. 

Now if you follow me on any of my social media sites you will know how interested I am in getting a nose piercing. However due to work issues and money I am unable to go get it done. I am glad for this fact because that means I didn't rush out to get it like normal. My sister actually came up with a great suggestion for me. "Why don't you get a fake nose ring so you can decide if you even like it on yourself?" 

She had a very good point so I started looking on etsy and such for fake nose rings. But some were a bit pricey and took forever to get here so I decided to make one myself! Cheap, easy, and a good way to use some scraps of crafting wire and such. 

Here is a video I found on Pinterest that gives you a few different options including the method I used to achieve the skinny ring.

Where Have I Been?!

First of all I just want to apologize for disappearing off the face of the planet but this past month has been hectic.

 Not even a day after posting my last blog post I was offered a job as a makeup artist at Graystone Haunted Manor! So my days have pretty much consisted of my day job and night job. My brain has been completely fried!

Monday Rant on a Tuesday!

Hello lovelies!

Due to me being sick yesterday my Monday ranting comes on Tuesday this week.

Just a little update on me and a few awesome things that have happened lately.

Has anyone seen Maze Runner yet? I went to see it on Saturday and I thought it was wonderful! I loved the story and now I'm super anxious to read the books! 

I was really confused at first and it reminded me a lot of Hunger Games at the beginning (the whole making children fight for their survival and using government based technology to fool them). And I'm 90% sure both of the big bosses, President Snow and Ava Paige, are both wearing white. Coincidence? Most likely not, I just notice weird things. Comment below if you thought anything like that too.

For all you crocheters out there, here's a bit for you. I'm pretty sure I have found my new favorite slouchy beanie pattern! 

I found this pattern through Ravelry.com which in my opinion is the best thing ever right next to Pinterest! 

Originally there was no pom on this pattern but I liked poms and added one anyway.

Last thing! Halloween is next month and I'm so excited! Here are two new makeup ideas that I found inspiration for on Pinterest and tried out myself recently!

The first one was a interpretation of this picture here.

The second was inspired by all the skulls and sugar skulls I've been seeing lately.

Wear it Wednesdays! Alice: Madness Returns

Hey there lovelies!

I am loving these Wear it Wednesdays and can't wait to try some of these myself! Now I work in an office so it's a bit hard for me sometime but I think I can pull this one off this Friday with a few minor tweaks.

Alice: Madness Returns!

Hello Lovelies!

So sorry about posting this late but here it is!

So I have just recently started playing on the xbox more and have recently gotten some new games! The favorite one is Alice: Madness Returns

To sum this game up it's basically Alice's family all died in a home fire and she has gone pretty crazy, in an attempt to forget all of this madness she goes to this Doctor and crazy lady to get pills and therapy. Then she has a very trippy experience and winds back up in wonderland. But this is not like her previous wonderland, this one is dark and twisted. 

Throughout the game you have to look for memories as you go from each chapter to the next. (this game is very story mode so if you don't like to sit and watch for a bit this might not be the one for you) I've gotten to the second chapter of the game so far and I love all the fun little twists to this game. 

For example, when ever you change to a different area, Alice's outfit changes and these are awesome!!

Look at the bows! (I love bows)

I haven't gotten very far, but I do remember watching a friend of mine play through almost this entire game and that's when I got hooked!

I'm so ready to go through all the levels and see what happens at the end! I've seen a lot of fan art through my Pinterest that's had some spoilers in it, but it only makes me want to finish the game faster!

So I want to start this new segment called Pin it or Bust! and if you follow me on Pinterest then you will know how much I looooooooooovvvvvvvvveeeeeeeee that site.
